Rancho Luna Beach

Cienfuegos - Cienfuegos City

Rancho Luna BeachRancho Luna Beach is located 20 km east of Cienfuegos. The semicircle-shaped, soft sand and beach is bathed by peaceful and warm waters.

There are different diving areas nearby. Its coastal platform is particularly rough and inhabited by a rich marine life. At the Barreras cove and Las Playitas, the ocean floor is an inviting setting for scuba diving. In shallower waters we find different coral formations. The deeper we go into the water, the more delight we take in the abrupt relief, sponges, gorgonians and corals.

In the same area, the Faro Luna, Guajimico and Whaleshark scuba diving centers provide training courses for beginners as well as day and night dives to wrecked ships and coral reefs. Trips in catamarans, and pedalo and kayak rental are other options of these centers.

Coral barriers get to be spectacular in some places. One good example is ‘Dama del Caribe’ (Caribbean Lady), located at the entrance of the Jagua Bay. The barrier is home for many species of all colors and shapes. Several wrecked ships can also be found in the area.
