Cuba has many scenic areas along the coastline with marinas that offer an great possibilities to do water sports. These marinas offer activities such as scuba diving, fishing, yachting, cruising and recreational beach sports. International regattas, tournaments and events are also held here.

Hemingway Marina

The marina which is named after Ernest Hemingway is located in the capital city "Havana" and is well known for the various events it hosts. The international fishing tournament is the most important event that is held on the marina and it attracts a lot of people. Other fishing tournaments are Blue Marlin Fishing Tournament which takes place in September and Wahoo Fishing Tournament which takes place in November.

The marina is under the supervision of Cubanacán S.A. and holds more than 400 boats. The marina also provides the crew members with some services, which include; clean drinking water, electricity, cable TV and at times they provide some customers with lodging services.

Boats that get broken while sailing can be repaired at the Marina, since they have these services. The services are not limited to the small boats but also to the big yachts. Before going to the marina, reservations should be made but if it's an emergency a signal should be sent through VHF channel 16, a system used in international maritime services.

Sea lovers adapt quickly to the marina since the area has a lot of services. Commercial centers, cyber cafes, transport and hospitals are some of the services offered. For those who just want to see the activities going on at the marina on the dry land, the marina offers accommodation services. The Acuario Hotel is nearby and if you don't want a hotel, there are a lot of bungalows in the area. Four restaurants that offer the best of Cuban and international cuisine are found in the marina. Marina Hemingway has earned a good reputation for it services and it can be described as a home away from home.


Marina Maria La Gorda

This is main entry and exit point for yachts at María la Gorda. No yachts are allowed without permission on the marina, a signal has to be sent via the VHF channel. An immigration officer is on hand 24 hours a day to give assistance, the marina also offers other services.


Puertosol Cienfuegos Marina

The marina is located at the heart of the most beautiful bay in Cuba. Puertosol Cienfuegos Marina is right in the middle of beautiful beaches, hotels, and in the city referred to as the pearl of the south. The marina has a lot to offer a beautiful seabed, and some great historical attractions which include; the largest coral column in the world -7 meters high and sunken ships.


Marina Vita

Located on the northeastern coast of Cuba, the port acts as an entry point for yachts from the Bahamas and south eastern Florida. The bay is also known for offering protection against hurricanes. No yachts are allowed in the marina without permission; they first have to send a signal through the VHF 16 or 13, which is available 24 hours per day.

The marina offers many services which include; internet, water, taxi services and many more. The marina is surrounded by luxury hotels and a community of beautiful and friendly people.


Santa Lucia Marina

This little marina is not known at all and it does not accommodate so many yachts. It is situated on the north coast of Cuba.


Marina Santiago de Cuba

The marina has become popular with American and European visitors who pay 12$ to get a one hour tour around the bay. The marina is located in Cuba's second largest city and this has made it become one of the busiest bays. It also offers a lot of services to the visitors, such as water, electricity and security for 24 hours per day. The marina also has repair services for yachts that have any mechanical problems. Marina officials are on the site to guide you in case you need any help.

The bay is home to most of Santiago's historical architecture and buildings that date back to the republican era which was in 1902.


Marina Varadero

Situated between 400 kilometers of virgin lands, the marina serves as an entry and exit point for Sabana-Camagüey archipelago. The marina is famous, because it located on the beautiful and well known Varadero beach. The marina accommodates a lot of yachts and is known as their safe haven. To send a signal to the marina use the VHF Channel 16.

Visitors get treated to various activities on the marina they include, sailing, a visit to the old ship wrecks or taking scuba diving classes at the scuba diving center which is located at the marina. Apart from these activities, the marina offers water sports and fishing competitions.


Marina Tarará

The marina offers visitors with many nautical options, ranging from fishing to diving. Its location is perfect since its located 45 kilometers from the José Martí International Airport in Havana. The marina is well known for its excellent services and attractions which include a tourist village just near the marina.


Marina Cayo Largo

It is located in the beautiful key with the same name in the village of Isla del Sol. The marina is the main center of most sea activities in the area from fishing, diving to snorkeling.

Visitors arriving by sea are supposed to let the marina officials know about it before, since they will not be allowed to pass without permission. Signals can be sent through the VHF channel 16. Transportation is in plenty for those visiting the marina since the marina is only 5 minutes from the major resorts. Casa Batida Fishing Club is just near the marina for visitors who love fishing.


Marina Chapelín

The marina is known for its excellent services and activities for the visitors. Some of the services include drinking water, electricity, fuel and repair for damaged boats or yachts. Visitors get to go on an excursion to Cayo Blanco on a sailing ship which has everything from an open bar to a snorkeling.

The marina is a nice place to fish or just take a stroll and watch the boats as they depart.


Marina Trinidad

The marina is located in one of oldest colonial cities called Trinidad. The marina's location acts to its favor, since it is near most of the resorts and the city center is only a few minutes away. The buildings in the marina area are tourist attractions and they have maintained the colonial feel. The marina is bordered by Archipelagos to the west, and the Jardines de la Reina to the east.

The marina offers the following services; electricity, docking services, water, security and many more. Visitors can participate in various activities which include, diving, snorkeling, fishing or seafari.


Cayo Coco & Cayo Guillermo Marina

The marina is located in the magnificent region of Jardines Del Rey. The area is known for its natural beauty. The marina is the excellent place for seafari and great sea adventures which include taking a sail on the same route Earnest Hemingway used during his sails.

The marina is surrounded by beautiful beaches and sand dunes and coral reefs that take your breath away. Tours are offered to the beautiful Cayo media Luna which is minutes away, also visitors get to see the different species of fish found in the region. Scuba diving lovers will enjoy since the center offers lessons and it gives international certificates and awards.

The marina has a modern tourist complex and yachtsmen coming through the Viejo Canal de Las Bahamas and nearby areas get to enjoy the services offered at the marina. Yachts entering the marina should send a signal using VHF Channel 68 Port Authorities, or Channel 19 Tourism. No yachts will be allowed in without permission.
